Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope that everyone is staying safe in this crazy weather. I wanted to take a few moments today to tell the story of what happened one year ago…
Early in the morning, before it was even light, I arrived at my doctor’s office to have my blood drawn. I had waited two weeks for this appointment, and in all honesty, I wasn’t overly optimistic. I had not felt any different or shown any of the signs of early pregnancy. So really, this all seemed like a formality. It was another step towards getting pregnant.
My mother accompanied me to every appointment, including this one. After the appointment, we went across the street to Starbucks for coffee, before we would both head off to work. My mom assured me that if I wasn’t pregnant this time, then there was always next month. I understood this and truly believed that I would be receiving a phone call later that morning with a similar sentiment.
At around 11:00 am, my cell phone rang. My nurse was on the other end, and I was already grabbing my appointment book to schedule my next round of tests…and then she told me that I was pregnant.
That was the moment my life changed forever. It was my first step towards meeting my darling daughter. And it’s a moment I’ll never forget.
