Last week, I read this great post from Anne in Residence about 18 things she wants to do in 2018. I thought that was such a great idea, and I decided to give the list a try for myself!
1. Visit 10 States
I’m going to consider a state “visited” if I go into a restaurant or shop, or visit a friend or attraction there.
2. Watch Big Little Lies, The Crown, Downton Abbey and Stranger Things
I just started Big Little Lies, and I have a feeling that I might be done by the end of the week!
3. See all of the movies nominated for Best Picture Academy Awards
I say this every year, but this year, I really want to try to see all of the nominated Best Picture films. Sure, I’ll probably need to see most of them online or On Demand, but that’s okay!
4. Make 25 New Recipes in the Slow Cooker or Instant Pot!
I’ve already made one–chicken enchilada soup!
5. See a Broadway Show
Unless something new comes out that I want to see, I’m leaning towards The Lion King. Believe it or not, I still haven’t seen it!
6. Donate to Goodwill Often
We have SO much in our house that we never use. I’ll feel much better when I can minimize our excess clothes and other various items!
7. Decorate the House for Christmas
Last year, I totally failed except for the Christmas tree. This year, I want the house to be well-decorated, including having a Christmas tree in Alice’s room!
8. Blog 3 Times Per Week
This may be hard to accomplish with a baby, but we’ll see!
9. Have a Date Night with My Husband 10/12 Months
Honestly, I think that shooting for all 12 months would be setting myself up for failure. But I’ll take 10/12!
10. Eat Edible Cookie Dough
Dang it, I need this in my life! I hear there’s a place in Montgomery County…
11. Have a Girls Night Every Other Month
Girls, hit me up! Let’s plan some fun things!
12. Meet 3 Others Bloggers IRL
I’m hoping to meet two at Macy’s baby shower in the spring, but I would love to meet at least one more!
13. Teach Sign Language to Alice
I wholeheartedly believe that baby signing works. Babies are much less frustrated and can “say” what they need before they can talk!
14. Take Baby Swimming Lessons with Alice
I definitely don’t want my girl to be afraid of the water, so I’m hoping to take some swimming lessons with her soon!
15. Throw Alice a Sesame Street Theme Birthday Party
I’ve already hit up Pinterest HARD for ideas!
16. Learn Lafayette’s “Guns and Ships” Rap
I told myself that I would learn this in 2017, but it didn’t happen. 2018 is the year! If James Corden can do it, then I know that I can, too!
17. Meditate When Stressed
I’ve been known to suffer from stress and anxiety, which is compounded by a baby that isn’t sleeping through the night. So, I’m going to try meditating to try to ease my mind and calm myself when things get rough up in my head.
18. Keep Up with my 1SE Video
I’m really trying to document Alice’s first year on a 1SE (1 second everyday) video–I hope that I can keep up with it!
